Early age

Mabaso, a medium-sized man, was born on April 1, 1976. He was born in the Johannesburg suburb of Alexandra. At school, he realized his love of theatre. Martial arts, dancing, directing, and writing are among his specialties.

Career of Mduduzi Mabaso

In 1992, he made his stage debut in the play Divide and Rule. In 2004, he made his cinematic debut in Terry George’s American feature Hotel Rwanda. The film was inspired by the genocide in Rwanda that occurred in the spring of 1994. Then he appeared in a number of supporting parts in films such as Catch a Fire, Heartlines, and Blood Diamond. He has appeared in the theater productions of Cry, Beloved Country, Madiba’s Magic, Behind the Curtains, Shaka Zulu, and Tasha On The Rocks. In 2006, he portrayed the lead in Tebho Mahlatsi’s short film Sekalli le Meokgo. Later, at the 2007 Durban International Short Festival, the film was named Best Short Film.

He was cast as the protagonist character in the South African television serial opera Rhythm City in 2007. He played the character ‘Suffocate Ndlovu.’ On July 9, 2007, the soap opera premiered on the free-to-air television channel Meanwhile, for his portrayal as ‘Ndlovu’ in the serial, Mabaso earned the Golden Horn Award for Best Supporting Actor in a TV Soap and the Golden Horn Award for Best Actor in a Feature Film.

He previously married Veronica Maseko, with whom he had two children. He then married another actress, Fatima Metsileng. Mabaso met her on the set of Zone 14’s second season in 2007. A few years later, they married and had two children. Ntokozo, Mpumi, Njabulo, and Zolile are his four children.
