Harriet Manamela (born October 13, 1971) is a well-known South African actress and television personality.
She is well known for playing Meikie Maputla in the SABC1 youth soapie Skeem Saam.
She made her series debut on October 13, 2011, and previously participated in the 2006 mini-series When We Were Black.
Early Life & Education
Harriet Manamela was born on October 13, 1971, in Diepkloof, South Africa. She was reared by both parents, who eventually moved their family to Johannesburg in the early 1990s.
She has lived in several areas of the nation since then, but Johannesburg constantly beckons her back.
Harriet Manamela enrolled at St. Anthony’s College in Boksburg. Her childhood desire was to be an actor, so she decided to pursue it. She joined Alexandra’s Squints Artists Community Theatre Group and made her debut in The Virus and Let’s Talk About Aids at The Market Theatre Laboratory Annual Festival.
She completed Broken Dreams with The Market Theatre Laboratory drama school and additionally featured in Theatre Sports for SABC3, toured Sweden with Gommorah, Koze Kuse Bash, Ways of Dying, Bozoli at The Market Theatre and The Grahamstown Arts Festival.
She also completed the Young Writers Festival at The Market Theatre for 2 years.
Career
Harriet Manamela’s television career began with Soul City, Isidingo, Yizo Yizo II, Justice For All II & III, Zero Tolerance, Soul Buddyz, and Behind The Badge in 1998. Dr. Lucille, Hijack Stories, Country of My Skull, and Yesterday are among the films. In My Other Mother, she played the major role.
In 2013, she appeared in the e.Tv soap opera Rhythm City as Nomzamo, Suffocate’s alcoholic mother who has been drinking carefully for many years and uses alcohol as a coping mechanism.
Harriet Manamela won a SAFTA for Best Supporting Actress in 2012 for her role in the film Life Above All, and she was also nominated for a Vita for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the soap Isidingo.
The Virus and Let’s Talk About Aids were finished at The Market Theatre Laboratory Annual Festival by Squints Artists Community Theatre Group in Alexandra.

Harriet Manamela has two boys and is happily married. Buti Manamela is her happily married name. Harriet Manamela’s husband was having an affair in 2017, but she held steady, confronted the lady, and gained her husband back.
