Gordhan Orders Eskom to Get Country Out of Stage 6 Blackouts
After meeting with Eskom’s management and board, Public Enterprise Minister Pravin Gordhan ordered the country out of “unacceptable” Stage 6 load shedding. “Power outages are having a devastating effect on households and livelihoods, investment, and the economic climate, which is completely unacceptable,” the minister said. “The frequency of breakdowns is certainly attributable to some element of malfunctioning within Eskom systems, and possibly sabotage as well.”
